Veterinary Diagnostic Services

Pacific Cloud provides Platform for Medical Diagnostics with tools and services for classifying images. It is designed and developed by Radiologist, Data Scientists and software developers using state of the art open source tools and code. Current platform provides tools for both humans and animals image diagnosis.

As the number of images per study increases in the field of veterinary radiology, there is a growing need for computer-assisted diagnosis techniques. We have a way to use current software tools and statistical models for automatically identifying image regions.

Multi-image studies are increasingly being acquired in veterinary patients and computer-assisted diagnosis techniques may be helpful for increasing radiologist’s efficiency and accuracy. One of the basic components of the diagnostic process is differentiation of one tissue from its neighbor.

Statistical and computer software tools can be used to assist in this process and many such tools are based on the concepts of machine learning. The term machine learning is used when a computer program is applied to a well-posed problem and has a measurable performance that improves with experience.

In veterinary medicine, machine learning algorithms have been used for applications such as lameness diagnosis in cattle, horses. We believe that these algorithms may also be used for veterinary diagnostic imaging applications.

We have applications to support classifying “good” quality images from “poor” ones. We also have applications to further classify images for malignancy or benign based on comparison to a “trained” database which consists on images that have been categorized by doctors and radiologists.

We have demonstrated this technology with human lung and breast cancer. We believe this tool can enhance the productivity of radiologists by providing remote access to images as well as classifier technology in the cloud or on a local or remote server.
